July 1, 2023 It is with sadness that we announce that our ORA Loss & Living Program is closing its doors effective July 1, 2023.

We have had many years, various programs, animators and clients participate and we thank everyone for being a part of our ORA Loss & Living Program.

We are not mentioning any names for fear that we may miss someone but a BIG THANK YOU and BLESSINGS to all who made the program work.

Thank you once again and God Bless You!
June 23, 2023 Throughout the summer period the West Island and Riverside United Churches Cluster have joint worship services starting at 10:30 am at different locations. Services will be in person and online: Jul 2 @ Cedar Park, Jul 9 @ Ste-Genny's, Jul 16 @ Beaconsfield, Jul 23 @ Riverside, Jul 30 @ Valois, Aug 6 @ Roxboro, Aug 13 @ Lakeshore-Trinity, Aug 20 @ Beaconsfield, Aug 27 @ Summerlea, Sep 3 @ Merging Waters. Details about the cluster worship services, including the link for online worship, are available here. As of September 10, 2023 we are back worshiping in person at Ste-Genny's.

July 10, 2022 During the summer period the West Island and Riverside United Churches cluster is holding joint worship services at different locations, as shown in the schedule here. We continue to have worship services at Ste-Genny's throughout July. On July 17 we are hosting the cluster at Ste-Genny's. During August and Labour day Sunday we join the cluster for worship, either in person at the designated church, or online. Details about the cluster worship services, including the link for online worship, are available at https://www.westislandriversideunited.org/. We will also live stream these cluster services in the Sanctuary at Ste-Genny's.
February 15, 2022 Changes in latest restrictions. Effective February 21, 2022 capacity remains at 50% and vaccine passport is no longer required. Starting February 28, 2022 there is no longer a capacity limit. Physical distance of 1 m must be maintained. People will need to wear a procedure mask (supplied if needed), and wash hands.
February 9, 2022 Effective February 28, 2022 latest restrictions are relaxed further and churches may reopen at full capacity. A vaccine passport is required and a physical distance of 1 m must be maintained. People will need to wear a procedure mask (supplied if needed), and wash hands.
January 25, 2022 Effective February 7, 2022 latest restrictions are relaxed and churches may reopen. Everyone needs to have a vaccine passport and attendance is limited to 50% of capacity, which means that our limit for on-site worship is 80 people. A physical distance of 1 m must be maintained. People will need to wear a procedure mask (supplied if needed), and wash hands.
December 30, 2021 The latest COVID-19 restrictions require that the Church is closed starting 5 pm December 31, 2021. Sunday Worship will be online, followed by fellowship.
December 17, 2021 Effective December 20, 2021 the latest restrictions are tightened. Everyone needs to have a vaccine passport and attendance is limited to 50% of capacity, which means that our limit for on-site worship is 80 people, who must remain seated. People will need to wear a procedure mask (supplied if needed), and wash hands.
December 9, 2021 Our ORA Loss & Living Program is seeking a Program Coordinator (part-time). For more details see the ORA website. Apply by December 31, 2021.
December 7, 2021 Blue Christmas Service on Zoom, Wednesday, December 15 at 7:30 pm
November 17, 2021 Effective November 15, 2021 the latest restrictions were relaxed. A distance of 1 metre must be maintained for people without a vaccination passport and there is no need for social distancing for people with a vaccination passport. People will need to wear a procedure mask (supplied if needed), and wash hands.
September 5, 2021 Effective September 12, 2021 the attendance limit for on-site worship is 80 people. We need to respect the latest restrictions. A distance of at least 1 metre must be maintained between people if they are not talking or if they are talking quietly, and of 2 metres if they are talking or singing, even when they stay in their seat and do not move about. Social distancing is not required if people are from the same private home or the equivalent. People will need to maintain social distancing, wear a procedure mask (supplied if needed) and wash hands.

June 22, 2021 On Monday, June 28 Montreal will go back to the Green Zone. The attendance limit for on-site worship is 50 people, as social distancing remains required. However, there will be no on-site, in person worship during the summer period, July 4 - September 5, 2021 as we take part in joint online worship services with other West-Island churches. In person worship resumes September 12, 2021.
June 8, 2021 On Monday, June 14 Montreal will go back to the Yellow Zone. Our attendance limit for on-site worship remains 50 people, as we need to continue social distancing. People will need to sign up to attend in person (contact Donna to get the link), maintain social distancing, wear a procedure mask (supplied if needed), hand washing, and no singing.

March 31, 2021 Revised Interfaith Protocol for Places of Worship in Quebec with our comments

Given the size of our sanctuary and the need for social distancing, we have set an attendance limit of 50 people. We resumed on-site worship on March 28 at 10:30 am and simulcast the service online on zoom.

September 30, 2020 Today is Orange Shirt Day, a day to remember, honor and pray for the victims and survivors of Residential Schools.
September 28, 2020 The provincial government has announced today that, starting October 1, we are at a red level COVID-19 alert in the greater Montreal area. Under this level of alert, we can still gather for worship in person, with a maximum of 25 people, physically distant and wearing masks. If you would like to attend in person worship, please contact the church office to register before Friday 11 am. You are always welcome to join us for online worship via zoom from the comfort of your home every Sunday at 1 pm.

July 5, 2020 Ste-Genny's After Service Zoom Connection: Starting Sunday 12 July 2020 until 6 September 2020 we are offering offer a time of connection (via zoom - phone & computer) on Sundays. Lisa Byer-deWever and Robert Hargrave will alternate hosting this special time.
July 4, 2020 During the summer period, from July 5 to September 6, we are taking part in shared online worship services with other West-Island churches (Cedar Park, Roxboro, Beaconsfield, Riverside, Dorval/Strathmore, St. John's, Merging Waters & Ste. Genevieve). THESE SERVICES START AT 10:00 AM. Some will be live, others will be pre-recorded. The theme for these services is: Tales from the Torah.
