Ste-Genevieve

Welcome!

We are a faith-community of everyday people, exploring, experiencing and sharing God's love within the vibrant traditions of The United Church of Canada. We are led by our Minister, Rev. Ian Smith and a very active Congregation, the "Ministers of Action".

motto

To find out more, we invite you to come and take part in our Sunday Morning Worship service, which starts at 10:30 am, except July and August when we meet at 9:30 am.

Our pulpit is inscribed with the letters VDMA. Ever wondered what that means? It is an abbreviation of the Latin phrase: verbum domini manet in aeternum, which means: The word of the Lord remains forever.

The Nursery is stocked with a variety of age appropriate toys. Emilie is eager to meet the little ones and watch over them during the church service. The room is also equipped with a loudspeaker, such that one can still follow the worship service.

Sunday School Classes (for ages 5 and up) are normally held in McNevan Hall following the "Children's Time" in the Sanctuary.

Please join us for fellowship after the service!

We follow the lectionary readings. Below is a listing of lectionary readings for many Sundays. The lectionary readings, taken from the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible, are available here, a Vanderbilt Divinity Library online resource. Many different Bible translations, different English versions as well as versions in foreigh languages, are available at the Bible Gateway website. Detailed scripture study for each Sunday can be found here, at Textweek. Sermon / lectionary resourses can also be found here, at Kir-Shalom, or here, at The United Church of Canada worship site.
